The construction of the course started at the beginning of 1973. The course designer was Javier Arana, who was the designer of many courses including El Saler. Aloha was the last project of Javier Arana, as he died in January 1975, just as the course was about completed.
One of the interesting things which he did was to discuss the variety of trees to be planted with top agriculturists and planted trees in a sequence which allowed them to blossom at differing times ensuring blossom throughout the year.
Aloha is not a long course, except for certain holes such as the 1st, 4th, 13th and 18th, but it needs precision and particularly on these holes also strength. It is an estrategic course with very well placed obstacles and trees, a rough that also complicates things and fast and slightly uneven greens, definitely for skillful players. |

DIRECTIONS FOR ALOHA GOLF CLUB MARBELLA COSTA DEL SOL SPAIN |
Aloha golf course directions:
On the N-340, turn off at Puerto Banus West entrance and drive inland, pass the bullring in Nueva Andalucia and continue all straight until you reach a large roundabout just after a big supermarket called Mercadona. Turn to the right here and remain on the same road without turning off in any other roundabout until you reach the Aloha Golf Club.
Coming from Los Naranjos Golf Club: drive pass the entry to Las Brisas and Supermanzana H and turn left just before the Picadero restaurant and carry on straight forward until you reach the Club.
Taking the motorway coming from Málaga: after passing Marbella, immediately after the tunnel and before Puerto Banús, take the first turn off to Istán. Go left round the roundabout so that you cross the river and continue until you see the International Golf School, pass the Aloha College and you will reach the Club.
