CASARES
• To be visited in Casares : The little white village of Casares will show you the real Spain in Andalusia Costa del Sol. Cross the village walking and go up to the hill where the old ruines are. You will find a magnificient peaceful area with the best views of the coast. The best times to be there are when the sut set or raise for the light effects.
• Directions to find Casares : On the Costa del Sol road, between Estepona Golf Club and Sogrande Golf Club, close to Sabinillas and Manilva, you will find a round about with directions of Casares and also Finca Cortesin Golf Club. From there, it is always straight until you arrive on the top of the village at 20 minutes drive from the coast.
• Casares restaurant recommendations : There is a few very small tapas places in the centre of Casares but there is also a very charming restaurant on the way to Casares on a curve past mid-way to Casares on the left hand side of the road. It is called "Arroyo Hondo Restaurant" with international specialities. This restaurant in Casares is mainly known by people living on the coast wanting to go for a nice dinner with a warm ambiance. CASTELLAR IN CADIZ
• To be visited in Castellar : Castellar is a beautiful little castle fortress on the top of a hill. It is a hidden place by tourists. The best time to go there is when there is when the sky is completely blue so you could see the Gibraltar and Morocco.
• Directions to find Castellar : Castellar is at 20 minutes drive from the coast taking the exit Km133 for Almenara Golf Club and La Reserva Golf Club. While you will be on that road, you will the signs of Castellar direction.
CORDOBA
• To be visited in Cordoba : La Mezquita de Córdoba is a beautiful cathedral in Cordoba, one of the most important hispano-musulman architecture, the third biggest mezquita of the world behind Casablanca and La Meca.
GIBRALTAR
• To be visited in Gibraltar : There is two things to be visited in Gibraltar. The main commercial road with all shops and bars and also the monkeys on the top of the rock. The monkeys live in the nature which is what people like to see. Should you go with your own car, close all your windows as they are specialist for entering in cars for steeling items or food that you might not be able to get back. Be aware that you need your passport or European identity card to enter Gibraltar. Should you not have it with you, they will not let you go to the rock. Be also aware that there is no parking tickets to be sold from outside the rock. Should you see some guys trying to sell you tickets while you are on the queue to get into Gibraltar, do not buy them as they are false and they also disappear with your change if you give them a big note.
• Directions to find Gibraltar : You need to go on the Algeciras direction with the N340, turn at San Roque town and go on the direction of La Linea which is just on the front of Gibraltar.
GRANADA
• To be bisited in Granada : The best places to be visited in Granada are the Alhambra Palace including the Alcazaba, the Nasrid Palaces, the Generalifa, the Mosque baths and the magnificient gardens. It is always recommended to book your tickets well in advance as they are quickly fully-booked. Call 902 22 44 60 or from outside Spain: +34 91 537 91 78. It is very easy to do, they will ask your credit card for the payment and give you your reservation code to be given at the entrance of the Alhambra. The ticket cost about € 10 per person.
In the winter, the Sierra Nevada in Granada hills is the place where you could go skying in the winter and the sunshine is usually always there also.
• Directions to find Granada: When you go from Malaga to Granada and the Sierra Nevada signs, avoid entering in the centre of Granada city and if you do, park your car in a public underground parking and take a taxi to the gardens. It is very hard to get to the Alhambra by car from the centre of the city even if you have very good sense of orientation. The best is, before you arrive to Granada city, follow the signs to the Alhambra Palace, same direction of the Sierra Nevada. You will be going around the city up to the hill and arrive in the Alhambra Palace visitor car park by following the signs.
MARBELLA
• To be visited in Marbella : The "Casco Antiguo" which is the name of the old centre in Marbella is highly recommended to be visited walking. Be aware that shops close at 2pm and re-open at 7pm. There is plenty of tapas bars in Marbella and our two favourite places are between the center and the Piruli which is in direction of Puerto Banus at the round about with a enormous icon in the midden and also between that central road and the sea. They are called "La Venenzia" which is an independent tapas bar & "Gambrinus" that is part of all Gambrinus anywhere in Spain.
NERJA
• To be visited in Nerja : Nerja Caves are one of the most important Prehistoric archaeological sites on the western Mediterranean. Dating back some five million years, they are notable for the large chambers filled with stalactites and stalagmites, and the immense length, over 4,000 metres. Each July a festival of flamenco music and dance is held inside the caves.
• Directions to find Nerja : Nerja is at 2 hours drive from Málaga in east direction.
RONDA
• To be visited in Ronda : Take an afternoon to visit Ronda going around the streets of the centre and see the famous "New Bridge" with fabulous views. Ronda is also a place where you will easily find tapas bars. In the winter, you could also go to "La Sierra de Las Nieves" which is from the coast road N340, a road on the right hand side, a few kilometres before arriving to Ronda. A perfect place for a long walk in the snow and with the butiful blue sky of the Costa del Sol.
• Directions to find Ronda : There is 3 ways to go to Ronda. From Málaga city straight to Ronda, on the N340 between San Pedro and Puerto Banus going on the Ronda road and also from San Roque town, taking the train.
SEVILLA
• To be visited in Sevilla : For many, Andalucia means just one thing: Sevilla! The city will charm you with its beguiling Moorish architecture and hundreds of trademark orange trees. Visit the most beautiful and charming places of all Spain including the Plaza de Espana, the Cathedral, the Alcazar palace, the archive of the Indies and the Giranda tower. Enjoy also a night in the old town where you can find some flamenco music bars orgo to the theatre.
TANGER IN MOROCCO
• To be visited in Tanger : Go on a day tour to Tanger and discover a completely different word. You could also play The Royal Tanger Golf Club should you go on a private tour. The best way to go is taking a day tour with a guide. Tickets are available in any tourist desk or hotel reception.
TARIFA
• To be visited in Tarifa : Tarifa is Europe' s best place for surfing with it's strong wind and magnificent wide beaches with long white sand dunes. Tarifa old town is also a pretty place to visit on day time and by night it is the best place for going out in a young admosphere mainly coming from France and Italy but also from other European countries.
• Directions to find Tarifa : Tarifa is at about 1 1/2 hour from Marbella going on the direction of Algeciras. |
